Our Travel Philosophy
There are many ways to travel
We’ve been in the business of traveling for almost two decades now and feel like we do it just right. There are four cornerstones to our travel philosophy: avoiding large-group travel, traveling safely, having a positive impact on the environment and the cultures we visit, and making a constant and concerted effort to give back to the local communities.

South America Vacation
Testimonials

Southern Crossings was amazing in planning our week-long visit to Peru. We were able to experience the highlights, and we had a fabulous time! The customer communication and support were exceptional, our guides were amazing, and we loved every minute of our vacation. Machu Picchu was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to travel to South America. Thanks again for arranging such a wonderful trip for us! We hope to visit South America with your company again soon!

Southern Crossings put together the Perfect Vacation of a Lifetime! No other excursion company came close to providing the level of customer service like Southern Crossings. All of our questions, concerns, and requests were handled quickly and satisfactorily. We gave them our wish list activities, and they produced a custom dream tour. Every detail was planned out. Once inside the Country, we didn’t have to worry about anything, including transportation or transfers, which to us is the most stressful part of any vacation! Whether it was at the airport or at our hotel, a Southern Crossings representative was waiting for us, ready to take us to our next adventure. All of the guides were knowledgeable, attentive, helpful, and spoke really good English; just overall awesome. We learned so much about the history and culture of each city we visited; we couldn’t imagine doing it without them! Time is precious, don’t waste it with anyone else!

In a sentence, Southern Crossings has just provided my wife of 46 years and I the best vacation we have ever had--ever! There was not a single hiccup. The itinerary that we worked up with Southern Crossings went EXACTLY as planned. If we were to meet with a guide at 8:00 a.m., that guide showed up at exactly that time. If we were supposed to take a tour of a jungle animal rescue center, then that is exactly what we did. If we were supposed to visit an indigenous village, then that is exactly what we did. The Galapagos Islands were beautiful. The cruise ship we were on was absolutely perfect. The food at every stop, in the boat, and at the jungle bungalow was phenomenal. The staff, the folks in charge, the naturalists, the guides were absolutely top notch. Every flight arrangement was perfect. Nothing could have been improved. No trip could have been better. Thank you so very much.

At the outset, we would like to thank Southern Crossings for putting together a great itinerary. All the guides were good, and we enjoyed the plan. Our best guide award goes to our guide in Machu Picchu, our experience at Machu Picchu was a memorable one and it was even more memorable and thrilling with the hike to Huayna Picchu. Please convey our thanks to all the guides, the drivers and your coordinating staff members for making our trip a successful one.

I've done 2 Inca Trails with them five years apart and the quality was top notch both times. The quality of the guides is superb, very knowledgeable, very patient and pleasing. Accommodations in Cuzco or near the trailhead have always been clean and quaint and excellent quality. Porters and guide and trekkers become a family after the first meal together, and the guide makes that happen. Celebrated my 50th birthday and they even made as surprise cake at 10,000ft+ plus! Low key, no hassle, great quality. Recommend the Inca Trail experiences "con los ojos cerrados". Keep up the great work Team Southern Crossings. Going to do the Salcantay with you guys soon.

Thank you so much for our recent trip to Peru and the Galapagos Islands. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end, and all of our guides were first-class. Special thanks to all the guides – they really went the extra mile! We’ll be recommending you to anyone that wants to visit Machu Picchu and the Galapagos.
